Why Asbestos is an issue Landlords need to know about?
The Health and Safety at Work (Asbestos) Regulations 2016 states that if Asbestos is in the workplace, a plan is required for that workplace by the 4th April 2018.
Will rents rise in 2018?
In our opinion, the answer is yes they will. An under supply of new houses being built to meet the current demand, continued high levels of immigration, lending restrictions on investors and the new changes the Labour Government is looking to implement around rental property compliance and ring-fencing losses - are all factors that will contribute this year to seeing rents rise at higher rates than what we have in the last few years. That said, when compared to the large capital growth of house values we have experienced in Auckland over the same period, rent rises have been relatively low in comparison for Auckland.....

According to the latest Trade Me statistics Auckland rents on average have only increased by 1.9% over the last 12 months being May 2016 to May 2017.
The average rent recorded in Auckland for May 2017 is now $530pw compared to the national average rent of $390pw excluding Auckland....
